Rita Dagher Mekanna is a Lebanese contemporary visual artist with over twenty-five years of artistic and educational practice. Working between Europe and the Middle East, she has developed a distinctive visual language that moves fluidly between abstraction and figuration.
She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA), University of Balamand. Her work explores movement, layered textures, and the evolving human presence. Through rhythmic lines and luminous surfaces, her work explores identity, memory, and the quiet strength of transformation.
Since 2003, her work has been exhibited internationally in Lebanon, France, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, and the United States (California), engaging in a dynamic cultural dialogue between regions.
Beyond her studio practice, Rita is also a passionate art educator and cultural contributor. She is the founder of L’Atelier des Beaux-Arts, a certified creative academy that has mentored thousands of students and organized more than one hundred exhibitions. She has taught Fine Arts and Art History in leading institutions in Beirut, Dubai, and Cyprus, and has served as an examiner for the French Baccalaureate.
She is an active member of professional art associations and contributes to cultural life through television appearances, educational initiatives, and community engagement.
Her work is held in private collections across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
